1896 Candle Co., was named after the date our family homestead, in Lanark County, was built. Five generations later, the home still offers our family comfort, solitude, and moments to get back to nature. Things are simpler on the farm, but beautiful.
This is what we hope our candles bring to your home through our carefully curated scents- moments of peace, cozy moments, or memories with family and friends. The design of our candles are kept simple, so they can be appreciated in any home.

Scent: Lanark Highlands holds memories of following Dad on the trails at the old hunt camp. Off in the bush in the crisp autumn air with scents of birch and pine, we would see some of the most beautiful scenery Lanark County has to offer. Our candle represents exactly that with the Birchwood, pine and musk notes. The scent of this candle is gentle, fresh and clean.
